Okay, listen. I have been fully obsessed with the PUBG x NewJeans collaboration since it landed. The whole starting-island experience feels completely different now. Instead of just waiting around or punching each other, I find myself running straight toward the truck stage to see what happens.

If you haven't checked it out yet, here is everything I learned from actually playing through the collab.

๐Ÿš› The Truck Stage Changes Everything

On several maps, the starting islands now have a PUBG x NewJeans truck stage. You can find it on Erangel, Miramar, Vikendi, Taego, Deston, and Rondo. When you perform one of the PUBG x NewJeans emotes on that stage, the matching music video starts playing. It's a little magical โœจ.

There are a few important rules though. Only the official PUBG x NewJeans emotes work on the stage. You can either hop up and join the emote or stand below and cheer using the Interaction key. On console, the album image shows instead of the music video. The music stops as soon as the emote ends, so don't get too comfortable dancing.

One thing I really like is that the truck stage is available from the start of the match until you board the plane. Once the plane takes off, it disappears. The feature works in Normal Match, Ranked, and Casual Mode.

๐ŸŽค Taego Got the Full Glow-Up

Taego is easily my favorite map for this collab. The School playground has been turned into a full PUBG x NewJeans stage. The music video conditions are the same as the truck stage, so you just need the right emote and a little bit of space.

There are also music stores in some Taego buildings now. Inside those stores, you can find PUBG x NewJeans Jukeboxes. I spent way too much time messing with those. The buses scattered around Taego got a NewJeans wrap, and there are cute rabbits near the School and music stores. Billboard decorations are everywhere too.

Even the little details are covered. Bubbles and fireworks go off before the drop option becomes available. The starting planes carry PUBG x NewJeans banners. Energy Drinks and Care Packages are wrapped in celebration designs. All Vehicle Music is now NewJeans music, which honestly makes driving around feel like a music video ๐ŸŽต.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Workshop and Special Crafting

If you want the cosmetics, head to the Workshop and open Special Crafting. That's where you can craft PUBG x NewJeans collaboration items using PUBG x NewJeans Tokens. There are 19 craftable items total, including costume sets, weapon skins, sprays, and a few other things. The backpacks and outfits with the cutest decorations are in there too.

Just keep an eye on the closing date for the Special Crafting tab. The devs said the collaboration tab is only accessible until a specific date, and expired tokens disappear. They cannot be refunded or exchanged. So if you have tokens, do not sit on them โฐ.

๐Ÿ’ฐ Step Up Package and Loot Cache Packs

The store has a Step Up Package with discounts that go up to 80%. It is a nice deal if you want a pile of Loot Caches at once. Each step can be purchased once per account.

Step Up Set Price Discount
Step 1 Set 200 G-COIN 80% off
Step 2 Set 800 G-COIN 60% off
Step 3 Set 1,870 G-COIN 50% off
Step 4 Set 3,750 G-COIN 40% off

Each set includes a different number of Loot Caches. Keys are not required to open Loot Caches, which is a relief ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ.

You can also buy Loot Cache Packs directly outside the Step Up bundle. The packs range from a single cache for 250 G-COIN to a 55-cache bundle for 12,500 G-COIN.

There are also six Emote Packs, each costing 2,000 G-COIN. The available emotes are Bubble Gum, How Sweet, Ditto, Hype Boy, OMG, and Super Shy.

๐ŸŽ Events and Rewards

There is a web event tied to this collab. It's available through the in-game lobby banner or the event page. The reward is a PUBG x NewJeans Box that lasts for 30 days once you claim it. After logging in with your KRAFTON ID and selecting your platform, you press the Join Event button. The box gets added to your Customize - Utility page immediately. You can open it at your convenience within 30 days, and the items you get are yours to keep after opening.

There are also some in-game missions that are pretty simple:

  • Perform any PUBG x NewJeans emote at an event stage before the match starts, or join a Group Emote.

  • Visit the newly decorated School in Taego.

  • Use the PUBG x NewJeans Jukebox.

Completing those missions gives you the Cool Lemon Spray, a PUBG x NewJeans Nameplate, and a PUBG x NewJeans Event Loot Cache.

If you equip each member's beanie skin, you can earn a custom lobby skin. That means equipping MINJI, HANNI, DANIELLE, HAERIN, and HYEIN beanies. It's a nice little collection goal ๐Ÿงข.

One small note: the console event start date got postponed due to an issue. The team said participation will be possible once it's fixed, so console players should keep an eye on announcements ๐Ÿ“ข.

Overall, this collab is surprisingly deep. The stages, music stores, vehicle music, and crafting system all tie together really well. Even if you're not a huge NewJeans fan, the visual changes and event rewards are worth checking out.

And if you miss anything from this run, don't stress too much. The devs mentioned that these items may come back through other in-game platforms like the Workshop, Your Shop, or future events. So keep your tokens ready and enjoy the sweet side of the battleground ๐Ÿญ.
